About THE BRANCH

Incorporated on 16 October 1945, the Bognor Regis Branch remains one of the most respected branches in the RAF Association, as it has been throughout its life.

The Branch is the Charitable and Ceremonial part of what we do in Bognor Regis. It has two missions:

1. To keep alive the memory of those of all nations who died in the Royal Air Force and the Air Forces of the Commonwealth. (As seen on the left, at the unveiling of the memorial, commissioned by the Branch, in memory of the crew of RAF Handley-Page Hampden AT110 that came down in Felpham in 1942.)

2. To provide welfare services to local RAF veterans in need and to raise funds for the Wings Appeal. This provides the funding to support veterans and, also, in supporting serving RAF personnel and their families.

There are now 15 RAFAKidz nurseries across the country that were funded through the Wings Appeal. The nurseries are designed to meet the needs of military and civilian families in the RAF community on and around RAF stations, providing affordable and quality childcare.

Where possible, the Branch will arrange for a Standard Bearer and others to form a Guard of Honour at funerals of those who have served Crown and Country.

TODAY with the support of the Club and its members, there is much more of a Tri-Service approach to the services we provide.

The Bognor Regis Royal Naval Association meets at the Club and, along with ex-Army veterans, we run the monthly Veterans Breakfast Club.

Links with Arun District Council are providing opportunities to better support the veterans in need in our community.

The Branch continues to live up to the RAF Association motto: Non Nobis Sed Vobis — Not for Ourselves Alone
